GRAVITY TYPE LIFEBOAT TEST METHOD

1- Preparation 20˚ heeling test
Prepare 20˚ heeling test using a chain block before the inspection.

lb2.png
Use an angle gauge to check the davit beam condition considering 20˚ heeling (angle = davit turning angle – 20˚)

2- 20˚HEELING TEST
Check any touch to the shell plate while lowering the boat in 20˚ heeling condition.

Check any interference to the shell plate while lowering the boat in 20˚ heeling condition

3- LOWERING TEST
Check the lower speed while lowering the boat after loading the following weight. (Measure time with a stopwatch using a 10m rope)

*  LIFEBOAT: WEIGHT = BOAT WEIGHT WITH EQUIPMENT + 3 PERSON WEIGHT

*  FOR RESCUE BOAT: WEIGHT = BOAT WEIGHT WITH EQUIPMENT + 6 PERSON WEIGHT SPEED = MIN:S1 ~ MAX:1.3m/sec, S1:0.4+(0.02×H(HEIGHT TO WATER LEVEL FROM DAVIT HOOK))

4- Check the hoisting speed and brake test while lifting up the boat. Test the limit switch and move to the loading position with the manual lever.
